Homer Parks
In a place surrounded by wilderness, it may seem strange to preserve green space within the city limits. But Homer residents are justifiably proud of their city parks, which provide places to play, relax and gather in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Bayview Park: At the top of Main Street. Playground equipment, picnic tables.
Ben Walters Park: Behind McDonald's, off Lake Street. Gazebo, barbecue pit, trail and boardwalk leading to Beluga Lake.
Bishop's Beach Park: At the end of Beluga Place, off Bunnell Avenue. Beach access, picnic tables, barbecue grill, sheltered area, bathrooms.
Homer Skateboard Park: On the Sterling Highway near Pioneer Avenue; next to the Homer Boys and Girls Club. Homer's only skating venue.
Karen Hornaday Memorial Park: West Fairview Avenue, off of Bartlett Street. Playground equipment, ball fields, picnic tables, barbecue grills, camping.
Mariner Park: At the base of the Homer Spit. Gazebo, beach access, trail access, camping.
WKFL (Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith and Love) Park: At the corner of Pioneer Avenue and Heath Street. Picnic tables, benches, gazebo, garden.
Woodside Pocket Park: At the corner of Woodside and Pioneer Avenue, next to Kachemak Bay Campus West. Garden.
