To beat the crowds, try camping in Homer before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. Homer's city-maintained campgrounds are open from April 1-Oct. 31. Camping fee is $8 per day for tents or $100 in advance for 14 days and $15 per day for RVs or $189 in advance for 14 days. Camping limit per site is 14 days.
